I was told that this hotel got renovated last year and the rooms look new and attractive. It is right in the middle of the small city of Tiberias and it is easy to walk places. We had a room with a large balcony, overlooking the Sea of Galilee and the scene was peaceful and really beautiful. The weather was mild in mid-February 2007 (it gets quite hot and muggy in summer) and there were party boats out on the lake and a plaza where people were gathering and having fun and being somewhat noisy, too. I imagine it could be worse in summer when the place is probably packed with vacationing Israelis.
We had a bottle of mineral water and a golden box of excellent chocolate chip cookies in the room upon arrival. We bought the wireless internet again for $18 for 24 hours since we wanted to work in the room and sit on the balcony. We were here on points and the value was excellent. We did not get the free large breakfast, so we walked a few blocks and found a great cafe.
The room was spacious with wood paneling and furniture and sweet sleeper beds and the view was just wonderful. The staff was very helpful and professional. Parking was free and in a small underground lot. One note, I believe the area may have an issue with mosquitos in summer, due to the lake front, so they suggest you do not keep your balcony door open, which would be a pity, as there are nice furnishings there to sit with a drink and enjoy the goings on below at the lake marina, etc.
I believe this hotel is used by many tour groups and although we only saw a few --with kids running around the lobby and large amounts of people going in and out at once--I imagine it could be an issue during the summer months.
