sheraton crescent hotel, phoenix

This is quite a nice property for business travel and was always treated well. The property is not a resort, but is located north of downtown Phoenix off the I-17 freeway.

Location: This property is located directly off the freeway (Dunlap Exit off I-17) and is near a mall and many restaurants. It is located north of downtown Phoenix and approximately 20 minutes from the airport (Sky Harbor). The property is easy to get on and off the freeway and is quite close to shopping/food.

Check-in/Check-out: Although seldom a problem, this can get crowded at times. As a platinum member I have always been given Club Lounge Access and free internet (if not Club level that includes free internet). Check-in is efficient and pretty friendly, but they are more business than "friendly/family".

Rooms: I have stayed in both King and 2 Queen rooms, the beds are very nice. It is funny, several members of my company who travel to this area of Phoenix like this hotel due to their bedding.. so I found no problem sleeping either in the Sheraton Sleeper bed. The rooms are a modern/southwest feel. You will either get the side that faces the highway or the pool. I have not noticed any highway noise (unlike other hotels I stayed at in Phoenix), so it is pretty good. The bathrooms looked dated and need a good clean up. The desk area was good and in Preferred Rooms or Club you get free water (and usually sparkling water too).

The club rooms have free internet, the other rooms do not (but as a platinum, they wave the fee for WIRED access).

Club level: Decent club room. The breakfast is basic but good quality. Nothing really hot, just the fruit and breads. The evening is similarly decently maybe 2 hot selections and cheese, crackers, etc.

Facilities: They do have a very nice workout center. The equipment has been updated and you can watch tv on your bicycle, stairmaster, etc.. and they have a racket-ball court, nice if you want to play. I found this part of the complex very nice. One issue I have is when their are groups, the parking can get a little dicey (meaning you need to go to level three of the garage). Otherwise plenty of covered and outside parking.

Overall, I like this hotel and usually get a very good corporate rate. They treat me well and have a good night rest!!
