Where to begin!!! This had to be the worst stay known to man. The terrible part about it is because of this property being close to the convention center, I had to stay here several times. After this one, no more. Ok, ok, I get the Sheraton Service Promise, but with all of the poor service, innadequate facilities, etc. of this hotel, they must be paying out more than they are taking in!!! I can understand a few bad employees, but management at this hotel were rude and had no idea what they were doing. Check in took forever! I finally got to the desk and my name was not used, the individual did not look at me and it seemed like I was a neusance. Come to find out, this guy was the Director of Rooms!!! Valet parking at $15 per night! Are you kidding me? In Birmingham, Alabama? The food was lousy and cost about $13 for a hamburger! I have stayed at Best Westerns with better food at better prices. When I was checked in, I walked into my room and someone was changing in the room! So, they moved me to another room and it was filthy! Evidently, a housekeeper was sleeping in the bed. So, after all of this, I wrote a letter to the GM. I got no response. So, I wrote another letter and finally received an email. It was very generic and obviously from his secretary.
Needless to say, from the top on down, it was evedent that this was a poorly run hotel. I think Starwood should look into this property. I will stick to 4 star 4 diamond or above hotels. 3 is not cutting it.
Other than that, it was close to the convention center. But its not nearly enough to get me to stay there again.
