The Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport used to be the DoubleTree and has since been renovated. You would be hard-pressed to beat the price. We paid $79/room to stay here overnight and we just drove into the various parks. It beat paying hundreds of dollars to stay at the Swan or the Dolphin. It was easy to get there from the airport upon arrival -- we just took the shuttle there, and the next morning I took the shuttle back to get my rental car (it runs every 30 minutes). The check-in gentleman was welcoming and smiled as he handed over the Platinum amenity card. I requested the 500 bonus points amenity. There was no club floor and no breakfast coupons.
The suite had typical "new" style Sheraton decor. It felt quite warm and homey. There was a separate bedroom with a King size bed attached to a bathroom that had a separate vanity area. I'm pretty sure it was a Sheraton Sleeper bed. In the living room, there was a couch pull-out, chair, desk, television, microwave and a fridge. We could see the pool out the window, which stayed quite active during our stay. The pool is more than one would typically find at an airport hotel, including landscaped rocks and palm trees. There is also a jacuzzi and gym indoors.
There are a few restaurants within walking distance, including a TGI Fridays across the street. Other typical chain restaurants abound: Chili's, Cracker Barrel, Burger King and so on. Not my style, but good to know if you need a place to grab dinner outside of the hotel.
I typically find that most of Starwood's airport hotels are either dumps or close to them. The Sheraton Suites Orlando definitely goes against the grain. Easy-in, easy-out. I would stay here again, my only recommendation is breakfast coupons for Platinum members.
