Should I be wary of any hotel with the word "mart" in it? Haha! I stayed for one day at the Sheraton Miami Mart, a renovation of the former Radisson Mart Plaza Hotel. Thankfully, it had gone through several renovations and was quite a comfortable hotel. This is my review.
At check-in, as a Platinum, I received an upgrade to the Club Level and offered an amenity. My room was quite large, nicely decorated in brown hues and equipped with a Sheraton Sleeper bed. You could tell they had done some renovations to the hotel, and the bathroom had been upgraded. There was a couch and a large leather chair in my room. The carpet, I noticed, was brand-spanking new. I still found the air-conditioning to be a little weak. Although the hotel is near the airport, I was not disburbed by any noise during the stay.
I had breakfast in the lounge the next morning before I headed out to the airport. It was nothing special. Typical breads/muffins and fruit. There is a sports bar downstairs, but there didn't seem to be too much activity down there the night before.
I did not make any inquiries of the staff or order room service during my stay, so I cannot comment on service levels. Sorry. At check-out there was a minibar charge on my account for some reason, but it was removed with a smile when I noted I had not even touched the minibar.
Keep in mind that the hotel is located on a non-pedestrian friendly street, so don't expect to "enjoy" yourself here without a car to take you places. I took a cab to the airport in under 15 minutes and it cost me $14.

Just a few follow up comments to the post on the Sheraton Miami Mart after a stay there during a September weekend:
1. Yes, the remodeling is complete and the rooms are as described above. The rehab was a bit rough in places, but generally large, attractive rooms.
2. The lounge is closed on weekends, although front desk may substitute breakfast coupons at the restaurant. Locale opens a bit late on weekend mornings, so did not have a chance to try it out.
3. Hotel has a free shuttle to/from the airport operating about every half-hour. Pick up at the airport is a bit hard to spot, so a call to the hotel is useful. thus a taxi may not be absolutely necessary.
4. Health club is new and well equipped and free to platinums.
All in all a reasonable place for a short stay if overnighting for the airport. As OP suggests not much activity or additional features for other purposes. Somewhat immediately isolated position makes a car necessary if touring or moving around outside the hotel.
