Facade of Westin Copley Place in Boston. photo by sharwest. This has got to be one of my favorite hotels in the Starwood system when I'm traveling for business to Boston. I think the general manager must run a tight ship because the staff are always terrific, know the rules of the game, and things just happen the way they're supposed to. Even the elevators get there quickly!

When you walk in, you'll notice right off the bat that there isn't much of a lobby. Whoopdido, who spends time in the lobby anyway. Once you're in your room, you'll find it contemporary and perhaps a little more spacious than your typical hotel room. As a Platinum member, I get upgraded irregularly to a junior corner suite at the hotel because they have a limited number of suites. However, I always ask for a room with a view over the square and the library. The bathroom is small, but adequate, with a fantastic double-headed Heavenly Shower.

Westin Copley in Boston. photo by vinhnn. The fitness center in the hotel is well-equipped. Keep in mind that I defined well-equipped as "having an elliptical machine." But there were also a handful of treadmills and stair climbers, as well as free weights. What's great is that each of the machines has a little LCD tv where you can connect your headphones and watch TV.

The Westin Copley Place is located, as the name suggests, right on Copley Square and just a hop and a skip from the trendy shops on Newbury and some great restaurants. It is connected by a walkway to the Copley Place shopping center and to the Prudential shopping center. It's right near Back Bay Station on the T's orange line or Copley Station on the green line.

5 experiences with westin copley place, boston

Good review, fair and consistent with my experience. This hotel is happy to recognize SPG status and reward it, and the staff is solid. The one major complaint with this property (and applies equally to the Sheraton Boston half a block away) is that parking is REALLY expensive - $30+ a night. But a good comfortable clean hotel.

I agree the Westin Copley Place Boston is a top notch property. From my experience too, they are great at recognizing Plats. I had left something in the safe, and they sent it to me at my next stop: the W NY. How many hotels would do that?

My last stay at the Westin Copley as a Platinum was not good at all. I booked a rate that included breakfast, which in the literature in the room said the restaurant was open until 10am for breakfast. Upon arriving at 9:20 for breakfast we are told that they closed at 9am.....Front desk manager did a poor job of rectifying. Also, the hotel markets the "heavenly bath" of which is not present, just take a look at the shower rod when you stay here, definitely not the heavenly rod found in the catalog. This Westin ranks as one of the worst in my mind.

I, too, was unimpressed here after a five night stay in a corner suite (which was paid for, not upgraded). It was nothing major and I wouldn't necessarily not return. As mentioned, the location is excellent and I the concierge made consistent, excellent dinner suggestions. It was the little things like laundry service laying my shirts on the bed UNDER my dry cleaning instead of hanging it all up. Why pay $6/shirt for the delivery guy to wrinkle them all? Ditto what the previous poster said about the lack of Heavenly Bath. And there was no bottled water available in my room. I might try somewhere else when next in Boston but I wouldn't shun this Westin, especially if the price were right.

Yes, the hotel may not recognize plats as much but Boston is also short on hotels, especially in this area. Location is so optimal with this hotel, though. Being right in the heart of the Back Bay, you don't have to walk outside but through covered walkways to get to numerous other hotels, 2 malls, multiple office buildings, subway, grocery store etc. The fitness center is also newly remodeled. I've also spent time at the Marriott in this complex. Believe me, customer service is no better there!
